How to Get Healthy this Summer in 9 Easy Steps #ad #NatrolGummies

This post is sponsored by Natrol but the content and opinions expressed here are my own.

In today’s busy society, we tend to fill our schedules so full that we don’t have time to relax even during the summer. Growing up I always looked forward to summertime because of the relaxed schedule and carefree lifestyle. Instead of taking off from work to enjoy time with your family and to de-stress, many employees skip taking time off due to constant business demands and the amount of work that they have to keep up with on a weekly basis. Even at the end of the day and on weekends, today we are still connected to our job via our cell phones.  Our connection to our job and other household duties pulls us away from our families and prevents us from destressing before bedtime.

I would like to challenge you to take some time away from work, even if it is just a day off to spend time doing things that you enjoy on a daily basis. Forget the dishes in the sink or checking your phone to see what is going on at work. We also want to challenge you to take back control of your health. Use these tips to get healthy this summer.

Get Outside

During the summer, it is so easy to stay hibernate inside with the air conditioner blasting but we suggest that you take the time to get outside and get healthy. Being outdoors has been proven to be the best way to improve your mood and health. Even if you don’t exercise, just being outdoors can help lower your stress level, get your daily dose of Vitamin D, reduces your blood pressure, enhances creativity, and improve your mental health.

Slather on the Sunscreen

Always use sunscreen when you plan on spending time outdoors longer than 15 minutes. My endocrinologist approved me to go outside for 15 minutes a day to help raise my Vitamin D levels because my doctor discovered that my levels were incredibly low. It is best to apply the sunscreen at least half an hour before you are planning to go outside. Don’t forget to reapply it often.

Stay Hydrated

with temperatures soaring to 90 degrees or higher during the summer, it is important to stay hydrated when you are outside. Water is the best beverage of choice when you plan on spending time outdoors.  It will help replenish fluids that you lose when you are sweating and drinking water will help prevent dehydration.

Eat More Fresh Fruits and Vegetables

During the summer, you can find local fresh fruits and vegetables at the farmers market. Shopping at the farmers market helps support local farmers and you are able to get organic food at reasonable prices. If you aren’t able to find fresh fruit and vegetables at a farmers market in your area, you can still find seasonal fruits and vegetables at the grocery store. Adding more fruits and vegetables is an easy way to get healthy.

Start an Exercise Routine

It isn’t too late to start an exercise routine even though summer is already here. Exercising in the heat causes additional stress on your body so it is important to keep this in mind if you are exercising outdoors. We suggest that you start an exercise routine indoors or in the swimming pool to avoid heat-related illness since you aren’t acclimated to the heat.

If you can’t get outdoors to exercise, don’t let the heat prevent you from working out. Find a great online fitness class, grab your favorite DVD, or put on your headphones and go to the gym. Don’t forget to add strength training to your fitness routine.

Get Plenty of Sleep

Summer heat, vacations, and other daily activities can disrupt your sleep schedule and now isn’t the time to skimp on sleep. Even if your schedule changes a bit, it is important to get a minimum of 8 hours of sleep. Sleep deprivation can lead to weight gain. When you are tired, you are more likely to overeat, rely on several cups of coffee with cream and sugar  (extra calories), deter you from exercising or even head through the drive-thru instead of cooking a healthy meal.

Take Vitamins

Even if you are eating correctly, it is possible that you are still missing out on important vitamins and minerals. A few weeks ago, we discovered Natrol Vitamin Gummies for the entire family. Our family hasn’t taken vitamins in the past but when my husband mentioned using intermittent and low-carb meals, he asked me to look for a Men’s multivitamin. He was concerned that he would be missing out on key nutrients. Natrol Vitamin Gummies were the perfect option for our family.

More about Natrol Vitamin Gummies:

  • Made with organic ingredients
  • Non-GMO
  • Vegetarian
  • Made with 26 fruits and veggies (multivitamins)
  • Gelatin-free (no animal by-products)
  • No artificial flavors, colors, sweeteners, or preservatives
  • 100% satisfaction guarantee
  • Made with pectin and less likely to stick to your teeth than gelatin-based gummies

We choose the Natrol Vitamin Gummies because the vitamins were made using organic ingredients. They are made using 26 fruits and veggies. The mom in me also loves that they are less likely to stick to your teeth especially since I am going to start my youngest on vitamins for the first time. Gelatin-based gummies can stick to your teeth and leave you vulnerable to getting cavities. The purple cap makes it easy to spot Natrol Vitamin gummies at the store too.

Plan a Vacation or Staycation

Put in your request now to take some time off this summer so that you can get some rest and relaxation. Even if you can’t get a full week off, take a few days off to enjoy doing something that you love. Your work can wait, we promise taking a few days off is worth it.

Don’t give in to busyness this summer. Start saying yes to taking care of you and enjoy your time off in the evenings and weekends.
